1 Kings 19 is a chapter in the Bible that tells a story of a prophet named Elijah, who was so fed up with life’s hardships that he told God he wanted to die. Their ensuing duologue inspired this poem.

Dzimbadzemabwe
Dzimbadzemabwe (more commonly known as Zimbabwe) loosely translates to “Great House of Rock”, and is my beloved country of origin. This poem touches on the often unavoidable plight of being an immigrant.
